Welcome!

The Brookline Cambodia Partnership is a global leadership initiative at Brookline High School involving students, teachers, administrators and Brookline community members.

Since 2009 we have been working to raise funds to construct a school in a rural village in Preah Vihear Province, Cambodia.  We are thrilled to announce that the Brookline Samlahn School is now 100% complete!

The next phase in our work will involve raising funds to bring a Brookline High School delegation to the village of Samlahn for the dedication ceremony in February, 2012.

Additional goals include raising funds to construct a library, hire a trained English/computer teacher, provide internet services on donated computers to Cambodian students at the Brookline Samlahn School, provide for a community garden and health services in the village.

Over time, we hope to forge a deep and ongoing relationship between Brookline High School students and Cambodian students at the Brookline Samlahn School.  In the short-term, BHS students will assist with our various fundraising efforts and communicate with Cambodian peers via e-mail and chat rooms.  Ultimately, students will engage in a meaningful service learning project at the rural school funded by the Brookline Cambodia Partnership.  Working on this initiative offers BHS students the immense opportunity to grapple with complex global issues and experience the power of service learning.
